The case for a man accused of robbing a pawn shop in downtown Duncan has been postponed for a week.

Ryan Gunold was slated to have a bail hearing Tuesday in Duncan and is now scheduled to return to court July 24.

He's charged with several offences related to the robbery at the Heritage Pawn Brokers July 7 when he allegedly bear-sprayed four employees and made away with some jewelry.

The shop’s owner, Gord Malcolm, said the culprit got away in a BMW, but two of his staff members had chased after the culprit and took down the license plate number and vehicle description for the police.

The RCMP later caught up with him and arrested the 30-year-old.

Police found Gunold in Ladysmith that same day.
