Tea, crumpets and fascinators have been the affair at many Royal Jubilee events around the world this week, but where was Cowichan's?

A high tea was held in Chemainus last weekend but otherwise the Valley seems to be rather quiet when it comes to organized festivities, marking her Majesty's 60th year on the throne.

One event is planned with the Queen in mind; September 22nd will be "The Big Lunch" in Duncan, a festival to celebrate Cowichan's Harvest and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Duncan City Councilor Sharon Jackson told SunFM News they chose to hold off their royal celebrations until later in the year, so that the food served at the event will be from the Cowichan Valley.
