You may see more cyclists on the roads right now as Monday marks the beginning of Bike to Work Week in B.C.

Cowichan event coordinator Aaron Bichard believes it's an important week for everyone.

“It is the one week where all cyclists can come together and show some comradery and celebrate together, and it is important to raise awareness and show the drivers on the roads, that we are out there, and that we can share the roads, while making it safe for everybody whether they are in a car or on two wheels.”

Bichard said they are hosting events all week to support cyclists.

All those participating can get free coffee and snacks in downtown Duncan every day before work.

Also Friday, they will host a wrap up event in downtown Duncan from 3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. with cake, music, and prizes for people participating in Bike to Work Week.
