Over 600 students to graduate from VIU
Over 626 students will have cap in hand when they receive degrees from Vancouver Island University this week. Another 190 will get diplomas and certificates.
Students from the Cowichan Campus are among the batch of new graduates scheduled to attend convocation ceremonies June 4 and 5 at the Port Theatre in Nanaimo. And students aren't the only ones getting some recognition for their hard work.
Canadian astronaut Julie Payette is set to get an Honorary Doctorate of Technology from VIU.
And Frances Kelsey, a pharmacologist originally from Cobble Hill, is set to receive an Honorary Doctorate of Science at a ceremony Tuesday.
