The Cowichan Valley school board is still waiting to hear their fate.

Five of four trustees are insisting on presenting a deficit budget to the Ministry of Education—a move contrary to the Education Act.

Minister George Abbott has insisted the trustees will be dismissed if they don't show him a balanced budget by the end of the month.

Board Chair Eden Haythornwaite said they have requested meetings with the Ministry, but they haven't heard anything definitive.
