Usually it's a wallet, some CDs or a cell phone, but this time, it was a violin.
Duncan/North Cowichan RCMP said that's what was stolen from a vehicle parked in Duncan Aug. 8.
The police said the violin is made of brown wood and has a repaired crack on the top, as well as a chin rest.
The instrument was in a hard black case and inside there was a country music book, two bows and a pair of gold-coloured glasses.
The police are not providing an estimated value of the violin.
They are asking anyone with possible information about the theft to contact them.
