Heavy clutter on a property in Shawnigan Lake is likely to blame for a fire that broke out there early Aug 14.
RCMP and the fire dept. responded to a call at around 3 a.m. on Haybrook Rd. off West Shawnigan Lake Rd. where the fire was ablaze.
Two small outbuildings were destroyed and part of the neighbour's fence was damaged.
There was plenty of natural and manmade materials lying around, which they say likely sparked the fire.
The RCMP do not believe the fire was set deliberately, but they are investigating something else of interest found on the property: Nearly 130 marijuana plants.
The police said the property owners were not home at the time of the fire.
