Top Canadian wrestler, Maegan Kuruvita, will be competing at the World Fila Cadet Championships in Azerbaijan this August.

The grade 11 Cowichan student is excited about the opportunity.

“I am traveling with people that won the team qualifiers, it is weird, but I am excited to see how it is over there and how everything is.”

She would love some community help getting to the competition as the costs are significant.

She is having a fundraiser carwash, by donation, on Sunday May 13 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Java World on Highway 1.
