A foster parent got a bit of a scare on Thursday afternoon when an eight-year-old girl now in their care, didn't turn up at home after school.

She was last seen at about 3:10 p.m. Thursday at the 3200 block of Cowichan Lake Rd.

Her new foster parent called the police to say the 3’5” tall girl didn't arrive home, so the RCMP believed she may have got off at the wrong stop, not realizing where she was.

The police found her at around 4:30 p.m. Apparently she had gone to a friend's home after school without telling her new foster parent.
