NewsLittle to salvage at Dino's Grill
Ribs, a smokehouse platter and pulled pork sandwiches—it could be a while before you get your favourites again from a popular grill in Duncan. But those are the dishes Dino’s Grill owner Dean Soler wants his customers to remember, four days after a fire tore through the building. “We really don’t want people to forget about us. That’s the main thing I wanna let people know, (is) that we’re not going anywhere, “he said. “That we’re still going to be the BBQ place in town.” Soler went to the building on Government St. Thursday to see if there was anything to salvage. “There wasn’t much left in the building. A lot of water damage and smoke damage so we weren’t able to recover much.” Soler said he aims to re-open Dino's Grill in six months but admits he must wait until the landlord rebuilds the structure before he can start repairs. In the interim, he’s hoping to sell his grill specialties at summer festivals around the valley and possibly hold a fundraiser for Dino's staff who are without jobs for the time being. The Duncan/North Cowichan RCMP said investigators are still looking into the cause of the June 10 blaze. Similar StoriesMost Viewed Stories
