Saanich police are close to wrapping up their investigation into an accident on the Trans-Canada Highway in Duncan last month, according to Sgt. Dean Jantzen.

The accident must be probed by an outside police department, as it involved a Duncan/North Cowichan RCMP member.

The member was heading south to answer a domestic call when a collision occurred with a woman trying to turn left onto Miller Rd. June 3.

Jantzen said Saanich Police Dept. detectives are still waiting for technical data from the vehicle's so-called 'black box'.

He also said "all interviews have been done to the satisfaction of the investigators” and that it would likely be a couple of weeks before the investigation is complete.

At that time, it could be revealed whether one or both drivers are responsible for the accident.

Both suffered minor injuries and the vehicles were nearly demolished.
