A workplace accident has devastated a Campbell River man, but there's an opportunity for the community to help.

Margaret Brinx has set up a trust fund for her friend Brent James.

"He's a drywall contractor who workis in Campbell River. He was working up near the Yukon and was in an accident. He was thrown from a car and broke his neck in four places," says Brinx.

"I've set up this trust so that we can gather some money to pay his rent and bills so that he's got a home to come back to," says Brinx, "Right now he's in Vancouver Hospital and may be there for a couple of months."

The trust is called "Margaret Brinx in trust for Brent James."
