The artist who will carve Duncan's legacy into a centennial totem pole is still a secret.

The totem committee at the city was supposed to announce their choice of artist this week, but they've postponed the decision until next week.

Committee Chair Michelle Staples explained they have to contact all seven artists who applied for the job before they make a public announcement.

Duncan's new totem is expected to be 30-feet tall—the tallest of the city's soon-to-be 81 poles.

The federal government kicked in some grant money to have the pole created in celebration of the city's 100th birthday.
