Float homes and their sewage are the focus of Cowichan Valley Regional District bylaw discussions this week.

According to CVRD Area Director, Lori Iannidinardo, they've sought advice from fire and building inspectors, as well as the Vancouver Island Health Authority and are calling for revised bylaws on float homes.

The new rules would limit the number of float homes allowed in the bay and require those left to be hooked up to the community sewer system.

Iannidinardo told SunFm News she hopes to introduce the new bylaws, and have marina owners install and connect the new sewer components by the end of 2012.
