Speeding is to blame for a single vehicle accident Thursday night past the Malahat near Goldstream Park.

The driver was heading south when he went off the road and hit a wall, according to West Shore RCMP.

Sgt. Max Flossom said the driver was going too fast for the slippery conditions and likely hydroplaned. He was taken to hospital but did not sustain serious injuries.

He was also given a ticket for going faster than what conditions allowed.
