It's a painful game of wait and see for the families of two women murdered in Duncan.

William Elliott is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and he's scheduled for a court appearance July 17 in Duncan, the third since he was charged in April.

The mother of slain 18-year-old Tyeshia Jones, Mary Jim, said she doesn't know what to expect this time after the case was postponed twice.

“I’ve been waiting for the court to start, sometimes it’s frustrating but I keep telling myself to be patient, because it’ll happen when it happens.”

Elliott has not entered pleas to the two charges of first-degree murder.

The Crown Prosecutor's office admits it's difficult to say what will happen in court Tuesday and that there could be a number of 'preliminary appearances' before a trial date can be set. Spokesperson Neil MacKenzie said like any case, the Crown must gather and present evidence to the defense before this can happen.

“It some cases, that’s a relatively straight forward process, but in other cases where it’s been a larger investigation, there’s more material that has to be prepared and reviewed by Crown and forwarded to the accused person or to his counsel.”

Karrie Ann Stone, 42, was found dead in July 2010 and Jones was found in Duncan in January 2011.

Elliott is scheduled to appear at 10 a.m. in Duncan.
