The RCMP in Nanaimo are looking for answers and three suspects after young vandals allegedly broke into a school in Cedar over the weekend.

RCMP received complaints that four men had broken into the Woodbank Elementary School, causing extensive damage. Several windows were smashed and apparently the suspects had emptied a fire extinguisher throughout the school.

One suspect, a 17-year-old, was caught and arrested by police and was later released into his parents' custody. It's not clear whether charges are pending.

According to a press release, police believe the culprits are likely responsible for damaging other properties in the area.
