NewsCowichan ready to break a sweat for Guinness
Put on your sneakers and sweats and help the Cowichan Valley set a Guinness world record. Friday Apr. 20,, hundreds of the community will meet at the Cowichan Sportsplex, to set the record of the most people doing a circuit workout at one time. Cowichan Sportsplex's Catherine Brandon explained how the event will happen. “There will be a warm up and then at 12:15, all of the different venues with their people will start doing the very same workout, and it will go for about 40 minutes. And all of those people, along with everyone at the Sportsplex, will be counted in for our world record.” Brandon continued to say it is not only about the beating the record. “Really the importance of this event to us is we want to inspire people to realize that some physical activity feels good and it is really good for them and we want to encourage people to get out and do that.” Over 900 students from School District 79 are expected at the event, guaranteeing the previous record of 317 people will be broken by the Cowichan Valley. If you want to join in this healthy lifestyle event, please register by Monday Apr. 16, by emailing events@cowichansportsplex.com. Similar StoriesMost Viewed Stories
