NewsOn Bike to Work Week, a little irony
An accident at the beginning of national Bike to Work Week sent a cyclist to the hospital with minor injuries. The RCMP said the cyclist was heading north on the Trans-Canada Highway in Duncan when he was struck by a motorist, trying to turn into a gas station on Trunk Rd. RCMP Cpl. Kevin Day said drivers could pay closer attention to the non-motorized modes of transportation. “(The) Trans-Canada highway through Duncan is a very busy roadway, so we have to take all necessary precautions,” he urged. “In a situation like this, possibly a shoulder check may have prevented this incident.” Day said the cyclist sustained abrasions, cuts and a possible broken collar bone. He also said neither the driver nor the cyclist facescharges related to the incident. Similar StoriesMost Viewed Stories
