A cyclist hit on Lane Rd. in Duncan Aug. 2 has died of his injuries.

The Duncan/North Cowichan RCMP report that the 20-year-old man died Monday. The cyclist had been airlifted to Victoria General Hospital last Thursday morning, after being struck at the corner of Lane and Moorfield Rd.

The RCMP are not yet releasing the identity of the victim or what kind of injuries he sustained. Cpl. Jon Stuart said that will be up to the lead investigator on the case, who is off duty for two days.

The RCMP concluded that the cyclist had failed to stop at the stop sign. They are not considering charges against the driver.
